My Creative Space

My creative space this week is portable.

Just like half the blogging world I have also been bitten by the Granny Square bug and now cant stop myself crocheting.

Im on my 6th square in 3 days,  it took me the earlier part of this week and all of last week to teach myself how to crochet.

  • I have crocheted on the bus (in the above photos)
  • I have crocheted in the car
  • I have crocheted on the couch and the floor
  • I have crocheted in front of the computer and the TV
  • I have crocheted while waiting for dinner to cook and water to boil
  • I have crocheted whilst walking (warning - not recommended )

Homemade CWA Scones, and a bit of crafting.....what more could a girl want!

My Growing Garden

I cant Stop Planting, its addictive watching those little seedling pop up from nowhere in all their glorious green newness.
Im trying to find anything i can use as a planter box at the moment, that includes an old colander and a vintage crate found at my grandfathers old farm years back.

A Slow Sunday Morning

My Love has been treating me all weekend.

On Friday he came home with the most beautiful bunch of lillie's. He bought me a gift of a new Cookbook on Saturday, the Country Women's Association Cookbook, its gotta have some good stuff in it!
Then this morning he took me out to breakfast and walked with me on the beach helping me Beach Comb. What a Man!

My Own Private Woodstock

Blues & Roots Festival

I always have the most wonderful time in Byron Bay and especially when the Blues Festival is on.

Byron Bay is home to my Bestest Friends and Loved ones so i love spending time there, and the East Coast Blues & Roots festival is truly one of the most special festivals i have ever attended.

I started going to the festival when i was still in High School and have been going most years ever since. Its a wonderful ALL Ages festival, so inclusive of all sorts of people, its a real melting pot of musical tastes and cultures and attracts some wonderful musicians every year. I always leave having discovered new favourite music that has a permanent spot on my play list.

Musicians like Michael Franti & Spearhead, Ben Harper, John Butler (all who have played the festival more times than i could count)  Paul Kelly, Taj Mahal, Angelique Kidjo, Blue King Brown, Archie Roach, Xavier Rudd, Blind Boys of Alabama, Seasick Steve, Eric Bibb, Tony Joe White and so many many more.

This year highlights for me were Seasick Steve (seriously if you haven't heard of this guy check him out NOW!) Eric Bibb (an absolutely AMAZING blues gospel performer), Fishbone (Scary but totally cool Funky Rock) and AYO (gorgeous German Nigerian singer who can only be described as completely JOYFUL).

Cant wait to see what next year brings!

East Coast Blues & Roots Festival

A little taste of the wonderful BluesFest!

My all time favourite festival and the place I've been for the last few days.

My trip was filled with FUN, adventure, madness, silliness, nostalgia and wonderful times with my favourite family (other than my own).
I'll post more words and pictures later on this weekend, but here's a little teaser.
