My Creative Space

Got back in the Fashion Swing of things last night.
I used to want to be a designer untill i found out how much hard work it was and discovered how terrible i was at following any sort of pattern. I have always dabbled and made the odd quick and easy garment but this i think will be my biggest challenge.

I made this chiffon dress last year for a wedding but being chiffon it showed up the endless mistakes in the sewing and i never wore it. Last night i had a brain wave and came up with this concept........the Doily/Lace Dress.

As with most of you i have a stash of Doily's at the ready for emergency's or nostaligic moments and i have never known what to do with them. Not anymore...............get ready for a Doily covered dress!
Im going to take my time making this one as i really want it to look perfect!

Great idea! I love doily dresses and clothes. I spotted a girl on the weekend with a shawl made of doilies and it looked great!

What a cute idea for the doilies. I think there are some great creative uses for them - I used one to make a little doll face cushion for Sophie and she loves it!
